If you dream of being a doctor, you need to do well in your under-graduate studies. Here are some of the colleges that have the best pre-med programs. Also check out our list of some of the best pre-med majors!
Harvard
While Harvard does not have its own premedical program, it does offer strong training and preparation for entry into the medical field simply because of its rigorous and respected academics.
The institution is known as a springboard for many students entering future STEM careers.
There are multiple organizations and opportunities for Harvard students to pursue medicine in college.
The Harvard Premedical Society is one such example – it provides prospective medical students a one-year advising program, opportunities to shadow physicians, and the chance to volunteer at local hospitals.
Before you take the leap, consider some advice from Harvard. According to the school’s website, the path to becoming a medical professional is long and rigorous, and students must consider:
- Meeting academic requirements
- Getting clinical experience
- Applying to medical school
- Additional health careers
Experts agree that applying to schools with a focus on pre-med is a safe bet and Harvard certainly has a lot to offer.
Awesome post! Very informative! This is such a popular topic with pre med students today and I love when someone is able to compile legit posts on schools. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! God Bless! Jesus Loves You!
what did you get in?????????
Is it the University of Washington at St. Louis? There’s so many!
UDub in Washington State. The fountain in the picture is a big monument on campus.
Lies, lies, and not Lies UNC IS A HORRIBLE INSTITUTION FOR PRE MED. It is a WEED OUT SCHOOL that will pressure you OUT OF YOUR DREAMS. Don’t believe this faulty post lest you make the biggest mistake of your life. Trust me I’m an alum. If your SAT was 1800 or higher then just maybe you’ll make it in to Med school after attending UNC though.
This is such a ludicrous post
Exactly what type of acceptance rate do any of these schools have?
So if you’re not a born genius, a born millionaire or born into a political family you have no chance of becoming a dr????!!!
I expected a real list of genuine colleges that a sincere and great high school student could aim for but…. Harvard… Really?
