This weird building, appropriately nicknamed “The Big Basket,” is exactly what it sounds like — a seven-story office building that looks like a basket. The idea was dreamed up by the Longaberger Company’s founder, Dave Longaberger, and built outside of Columbus, Ohio. The cost to build it was $30 million and it opened in 1997. Since the company has now fallen on difficult economic times, the unusual structure is on the market for $5 million. The 180,000 square-foot basket is one of the largest buildings for miles, and its massive handles must be heated every winter to prevent snow from building up on them.
